César Farías: The new Manager of NorthEast United FC
César Farías has previously managed the Venezuelan national football team. He is also coached Deportivo Táchira, Mineros de Guayana, Deportivo Anzoátegui and the Venezuelan U-20 team prior to managing the national team. He is the first and only manager to ever have taken the Venezuelan national football team to the semi-final stage of Copa America in 2011. At his unveiling as the new Manager of NorthEast United FC, he said, “I am very pleased to be the Head Coach of a club with a great and ambitious project in a fast growing and highly competitive ISL- Indian Super League. I have a clear goal in mind: The development of ?NorthEastUnitedFC and also of Indian football. I experienced the passion that Indians possess for football first hand, when my team played a friendly against Argentina in Kolkata in 2011. During my stay in this great nation, I was very pleased with the hospitality and the love that everybody had for the beautiful game. At that time, I pictured myself working in the country, some day in the future. That day has finally come. I cannot wait to revisit India and win with NorthEast United FC”.
Guillermo Sánchez: The new Assistant Manager of NorthEast United FC
Sanchez is a performance, fitness and mental conditioning specialist that holds an ‘A’ Level Coaching License which he attained from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). He has worked with the former Venezuelan Manager, Cesar Farias, before the national team played the FIFA World Cup qualifier 2014. He also coached Deportivo Táchira (a Venezuelan football club, who play in the Primera División Venezolana), which became the champion of the Venezuelan League in 2014-15 and also managed to reach the group stage in Copa Libertadores. He specializes in coaching and developed young players that are currently playing in leagues of America, Finland, Serbia, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Canada, etc. At his unveiling, Guillermo Sánchez said, “I am very excited for this opportunity to coach in the ISL- Indian Super League and be part of the NorthEast United FC family. I believe in the growth of football and the accumulative growth worldwide. We can’t wait to come and start working to achieve the goals and objectives of this great project”.
Anthony Warner: The new Goal-Keeping Coach of NorthEast United FC
Anthony Randolph “Tony” Warner is appointed as a Goal-Keeping Coach for NorthEast United FC. Tony is an ex Trinidad and Tobago footballer who has played a couple of times for his country. He has also been the Goal-Keeping Coach at Bolton Wanderers. Tony has played in the Premier League for clubs such as Fulham & Leicester City and also had stints in Championship clubs such as Leeds United, Norwich City, and Charlton Athletic.
